I have looked everywhere for a way to fix my MS Sidewinder gamepad pro to work with my Windows 2000 and nothing. It shows as connected but I push a button under test and nothing.

I got it to work for 5 minutes before and then it crashed.

Not even MS website has a fix, any ideas

Is it a gameport or USB connection. If gameport, my sons state that it ain't gonna happen. If USB it should work. Maybe drivers.

Its USB, and it works seldom at best. Actually, I had it work once and crash. BUT IT IS USB.

Check resources and see if your USB controllers are sharing IRQs with high bandwidth hardware like sound or video. Moving the sound to a different PCI slot may be all that is necessary.
