Hi, I am having trouble with Win 2000 and IE/Netscape. I got a new computer and installed 2000, the only way I can connect to the internet is to uninstall/reinstall tcp/ip each time I want to go online. If I don't do this, it will not connect and load any internet pages. Once I reinstall, it works fine until the next time I boot my computer. This works, but is ridiculous. Someone suggested I install SP1, now I can't connect to the internet at all! I get a message that says connection was reset by server. I am at my wits end, is there anyway to use the internet with Win 2000? I do not have any firewall software installed(no zone alarm). Please help. I have already contacted my internet support with my initial problem, they were not able to help. The SP1 problem is new, any suggestions how to fix it all? Thanks.

Thanks. I have tried different drivers and I haven't installed an ISP internet kit. I think it is my modem, I have been told to get a hardware modem instead of a software modem. It is just that it is a new computer/modem, and I didn't think I should need to buy a new one. It has been working better, but I still get the connection reset by server message, especially if I am trying to download a file. I will try a new modem and see what happens.
