I have a WinXP Pro networked to a Win2K server. Excel Files are stored on the server in a shareed folder. When I open an xls file in ExcelXP, make some changes, then try to save I can't. The file is not read only. The Open Files on the server shows multiple xls files of the same name open, but I only opened it once. Why is this happening?

I am having the same problem with an NT4 server and a W2K client. I am running Office 97 and every time the W2K client opens and Excel file it opens 2 copies. This is driving me crazy and makes the W2K machine useless because I have to re-train everybody that uses it. If anyone knows the answer please post it.
