Winamp mysteriously stops playing

I have Winamp V 3.0 and when i start my computer everything is fine and winamp loads up and begins playing. After a while though winamp stops and the songs will no longer play. After which time I exit winamp and try to re-open it. Nothing helps, the songs wont load. Even if I try to start a song in the middle it still does not work. I eventually have to reboot my computer for it to play a couple of songs before it stops working again.
I hope I have explained this clearly enough because i'm tired of rebooting the computer. Thanks.
I'd suggest just the opposite and get an older version of Winamp. V3.0 must have been pretty buggy for them to rush out a new, totally revamped version so quickly - and, from personal experience and from listening to others complain about it, 5.0 isn't fairing much better. I've tried all the newer versions but always go back to V2.81, which runs without a hitch. The old versions are available at http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=winamp
