I am new to 2000. Everytime I boot up I get as the last leg, a message that there is software that will only run on 95/98. I have tried uninstalling most of what I have and also running a boot log. How do I find out exactly where the problem lies?

when your machine boots up, hold down the F8 key i believe, it may be the F5, either way one or the other. Do this when the computer boots and hold it down. It will give you a list of options on how you want to load into Windows. Something like:
1)Safe Mode
2)Safe Mode w/Cd rom support
3)Normal
4)Command prompt
5)command prompt with CD rom support
6)step by step confirmation

it might be more or it might be less, it depends on your OS. Choose step by step. Go through each step and the step that your computer freezes at is your problem child.
This will only work if it is a problem with your booting into the OS. So if you can get into windows 2000 ok, then this problem won't help much. repost, and let me know.
