This is the best way I can put it.

Windows 95: A Pinto. Actually, an old rusted Pinto running on 3 bald tires and a spare. Only one cylinder is firing, exhaust leaks vent into the interior, and the roof is leaking. There's a hole in the floor, the shifter consists of vice grips attached to the linkage, and the passenger seat has springs poking through the fabric. Oh yheah, and all the windows are broken, clear plastic sheets are duct-taped over top.

Windows 2000: A ferrari.

Win2k
Looks like a Ferrari. Runs like a Ford. Engine stops running for no apparent reason. Hood is welded shut. A '95 model costs exactly the same as the '03 model.

And Deputy DooDahs mechanic is Goober from Mayberry. I get a kick out people that complain how unstable Win2k is when in fact is is amazingly stable when configured correctly. If WIn2k is crashing on you it's almost always the fault of the administrator or user doing something wrong.

Dustin, I love your example. It is right on. Win2k is excellent and server OS and a client OS and as a client, XP is even better.

Glen's absolutely right. Figuring out some of the intracacies of Windows 2k can sometimes be a little frustrating but it's worth it. Go trash 2k on the linux forum DooDah.
