Hi guys,

I was wondering if someone could help me. I am trying to set up a VPN connection between my Home server and my Laptop workstation and my mates laptop

Here are the specs for my Server:
Windows 2K server
Static (private) IP Add and a dynamic IP add (to connect to my DSL with a public IP add )
DNS / Active Directory / DHCP / Routing and Remote access (for VPN)

Basically the server is just for the AD and data.

The workstation is a Windows XP Pro system, using the windows VPN dialer.
Both workstations have been connected to the Domain.

When I try and dial the VPN server, using the public Ip address of the DSL router that the Server connects to the internet to, I just get the generic error of cant connect to the system. I can’t remember the exact error code.

Does anyone know if I am missing something about connecting to the VPN. I know the server works, because when I connect another laptop to my switch and dial the ip address of the private IP add ( server add ) it connects with no problem.

Can someone please help with this

Regards
Colum
