Subject: win2k video driver problem |
Comment: i have recently formatted my computer, and installed win 2k. my computer uses trio 3d/2x series, so i downloaded the corresponding driver for the video card. However, it won't let me install the driver. when i try to install the driver, it just says "unable to find the driver" and it won't let me. i know that it is the right driver since i used wins3id.exe utility which shows the type of video card i have. i have no idea why it won't let me install when it is the right driver. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks

Reply: (edit)It can't find the old driver to update. Try this: Remove the current driver using Add/Remove hardware. Restart and if it installs it again properly, restart again and try to install the update. I had similar problems with the SoundMax64 drivers from Compaq. You could just install the very basic VGA drivers then try to install the updated ones.
