Subject: win2k video driver problem
Comment:

i have recently formatted my computer, and installed win 2k.
my computer uses trio 3d/2x series, so i downloaded the corresponding driver for the video card.
However, it won't let me install the driver.
when i try to install the driver, it just says "unable to find the driver" and it won't let me.
i know that it is the right driver since i used wins3id.exe utility which shows the type of video card i have.
i have no idea why it won't let me install when it is the right driver.
any suggestions would be helpful.
thanks

It can't find the old driver to update. Try this:

Remove the current driver using Add/Remove hardware. Restart and if it installs it again properly, restart again and try to install the update.

I had similar problems with the SoundMax64 drivers from Compaq. You could just install the very basic VGA drivers then try to install the updated ones.
