hi everyone, Im using a windows 2000 OS and when i boot, the computer is loading network connection, then for literally 3-4 mins everything is blank and then it says "loading system settings", then after another 2 minutes it loads the desktop. I have diasbled the username and password and allowed administrator to login directly. Previously I didnt have the patience to wait for 3-4 mins and thought that the system would never load up. I have been reading all threads that relate to system login for win2K since the pastr 2 days but nothing really worked. It is not a Msgina.dll problem, nor a winlogon userinit problem, and neither are there any *.pwl files on my system. So why is it taking so long for the desktop to load up. Please help. Im the only user on this machine and this machine is NOT on a network.

Download this program it is free.
Sounds like you have way too many programs running in your start up.
Good Luck

hi Robbie, thanks for your help. Im not able to login as a user at all. There was a blank screen for 30+ mins and i restarted in safe mode and disabled user login and enabled Administrator login. Then it takes 3-4 mins only. I will try what u told me and see if it helps.
