Win2K only allows 20 characters when creating new user account on the PC. Is there a reg change I can make to increase this?

If you're using the GUI, you should be able to create usernames longer than 20 characters; although I don't know why you'd want to do have your userIDs that long.

If you're using the net.exe, then there is indeed a limitation, which has been documented on Microsoft's website.

you dont want them that long. if you make them thta long, you are going to be unlocking a TON of locked accounts when the users mistype their logins and lock their account.

The reason why they are that long is that they have to be firstname.secondname@domainname.co.uk, which is more than 20 letters.
