Hi everyone, got a question for you all. I am running an AMD 1.4gig on a FIC az11ea with the via chipset and am running Win2K. I have a Mustek 1200 Bearpaw scanner attached to the system which has worked fine on my old 98 machine. If I plug the scanner in, the system will hang on the boot screen. However, if I start the system with the scanner unplugged and then plug the power in once the system is in Windows, the scanner seems to work. Occasionally it will lock up the system but not always. At any rate, does anyone have any idea of why the scanner would lock the system on startup? Feel free to e-mail me.
I have the same problem (or almost) with a Mustek BearPaw 1200. It does not reboot, but it's not working either. When I plug in the USB connector, it says that Merlin Scanner it's found, but in the Unplug or Eject windows it appears with a ! mark on it, and it's not working.
I've tried the drivers that mustek is offering on their website (the cd only has drivers for win98 and me), but after completing the install and rebooting (!?!) it says in the Control Panel/Sysyem/Hardware device that no driver has been installed for the scanner. I'm mad :((
Has anyone succeded in making this scanner work in win2k?
I'll be forever thankfull if he/she can help us!!!!!
