I have a couple laptops that I installed Win2K on. They are running slower than usual. I've tried running disk cleanup and Disk Defragmenter tells me that i don't need to defrag. Is it because I installed Win2K? They said it was slow before (but maybe not as slow).

You didn't say what the laptops are. It may be the specification of the machines rather than the fact that they are laptops.

W2k is a big NT based program which is very heavy on resources. If you give more information someone may be able to help.

Win2k will run on laptops with 64 MB of RAM.
Whick is what I suspect you are using. This is VERY slow. I don't recommend using Win2k on laptops unless they have at LEAST 128 MB of RAM.

That is not true. It depends on how you did install win2k. I have two laptops with 64mb, and a pentium mmx 266 cpu(MMX, not even p-II). They run twice as fast than before (they had win98 and 98se before).
