The Microsoft site says it can be done but doesn't give steps to do it. I have already set up a second primary partition to install the Win XP on, however, when I try to run the XP setup, first it pops up a message saying I can't upgrade from Win2K Server, then I click past that to the advanced setup options and choose to install XP on a partition of my choosing, and the setup appears to continue fine until after the setup files transfer and I am prompted to reboot. At that point I am given a choice between starting in Win2K Server and Win XP Pro and I choose Win XP Pro. All seems well until I get this message "Setup cannot load the keyboard layout file KBUS.dll. Setup cannot continue. Shut Down or Restart you Computer" I have tried several things, all with the same result. How can I make the Win XP Pro install on the second primary partition? Thanks for any help!

How far through the WinXP setup did you get? I presently have a computer with two partitions (C: and D:) with 2K Advanced Server, and one partition (E:) with WinXP Pro. I didn't have this problem. How far did you advance in the setup before you had the problem? I know that during setup, there is a third menu option on boot menu that says "Windows XP setup". Is it possible you may have changed the default menu choice selected during re-boot from "Win XP setup" to "Windows XP" and tried to boot to XP before it was fully installed? The "Windows XP setup" menu choice is removed from the boot menu after setup is completed fully. Just a thought. Provide more details as to how far you got with setup if this isn't the case.

Thanks,
Trevor
