I just scanned my win2k pro box with Microsoft's Baseline Security Analyzer, and found this to be odd (I am new to NT based OSes):
2 share(s) are present on your computer.
Result DetailsAccess: F - Full, R - Read, W - Write, D - Delete, X - Execute, C - Change
Score Share Directory Share ACL Directory ACL
ADMIN$ C:\WINNT Admin Share BUILTIN\Users - RX, BUILTIN\Power Users - RWXD, BUILTIN\Administrators - F, NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM - F, Everyone - RX
C$ C:\ Admin Share Everyone - F^That is what I got, are these Shares safe? (When I went into the area to configure them (forgot where) they said they were needed, and the options could not be changed?..)

They are the default administrative shares automatically set up by windows. Is your machine connected to a network? If so, they can (only) be accessed by the Administrator user of your machine or equivalent (eg, the Administrator user on another machine IF it has the same password as your Administrator account). They should only be available on the network - ie, not over the internet.
There are millions of machines with these shares in place - so unless you have specific worries, I'd just forget about them.
There are methods of (permanently) removing them - I'm sure you could find them and more info if you're interested using Google.

Thanks for the info.
I am not on any network (It is connected to the internet, however) and I am the only user of the PC.
