Is your Win2k machine acting as a router? If so, your hardware router must be configured to go through the Win2k machine. I am not sure if I am understanding you correctly, but you have a WAN (DSL, Cable, or Wireless maybe?), an Win2k computer (internet working), a hardware router (LinkSys?), and X computers. The X computers are set up to go through the router? Why do you have the router anyway?

ok ok, in order for me to use internet, i have to log in, that is why i cnanot connect wan(university connection) directly to router. I have to connect wan to my win2k first , which has 2 nic. Then im connecting one of nic to my router, which other computers are conencted to.

Enable internet connection sharing on the public nic. Set the other pc's to recive ip info from dhcp, (the box with the public nic). After the public box is connected to the internet then the other pc's should be able to connect as well.

Go into routing and remote access, set compter up as a router (right click on server - your computer name - choose properties) check box and choose local and demand dial routing. configure local nic to use 0.0.0.0 as default gateway set internet nic to use automatic ip config. This will change slightly if you are using a third party dsl router between your modem.

I don't think you can set default gateway as 0.0.0.0
