Hello My system suddenly reboots without any warning, just BOOOFFF! when i'm working in a program and when i'm not working, seems like its no logic to the time of reboot, and no error comes, just switch off ! Today 5 times already, some days goes fine...
my system: - win2k 5.0 (Build 2195) - AMD Athlon(tm) Processor 857 MHz - Award Medallion BIOS v6.0, 03/19/02 - 383 MB (23% Utilized) - 800 x 600 in 64K Colors, NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro Ver. 6.13

If you had another power supply I would try using it to see if you can rule out this potential problem causer. A computer I have started out behaving as you described...unpredictable...then it seemed to only crash when I would click to open or close something....then finally it seemed to almost never crash except when transfering files over my LAN. In my case it ended up being a defective slot 1, 350MHz PII. Good luck

There is an auto-reboot feature when system crashes set by default for Windows 2000.
It is located under My Computer - Control Panel - System - Advanced - Startup and Recovery Button.
If you turn this off, you might be able to at least see some crash messages.

This is more than likely an overheating problem . Chech the power supply and processor fan operation. Also check for dirt and rubbish in the Processor heatsink.
