Please can anyone help?
After going onto internet (IE5)I get the pop up:
Program error
svchost.exe has generated errors and willl be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created. OK
Clicking OK allowed me to continue browsing but I couldn't open some windows from links. Also I couldn't drag music files from explorer to Winamp and I couldn't click on the dial-up connection icon in the sys tray to close the connection.
I loaded grisoft AVG V6 which detected Lovsan virus and deleted it. Great... or so I thought.
Then I noticed on internet lots of activity in sys tray icon when just looking at google. Still activity when IE closed but connection opened. I installed firewall and this detected illegal activity. Stopping this seemed to cure all problems and I could browse happily.
But some time later after stopping browsing I got a pop up:
AvgServ
IoCtl error
OK
trying to restart windows says
Restart
You do not have permission to shutdown and restart this Computer
OK

Ctrl/Alt/Del wont let me click on task manager but does allow clciking on shutdown.
PC then seems fine until I visit internet again.

Any ideas other than reformat and start again?

yes read the anti virus pages better. You will have to get the update for windows or else you will be affected everytime you get on the internet.....
Also you need to scan twice to be sure the virus isnt on your computer anymore, read the pages and look at your registry. When you had the virus someone could have done some things on your computer. Anyway it isnt smart to not have an anti-virus program on your computer someone could have scanned your computer all the time
