The Windows Update web site fails whenever I try to download and install ANY of the available updates. The files get downloaded, but when it gets to the installation part, it fails and gives me a web page that says the product updates download and installation failed. I am logged in as Administrator and have Win2K Pro w/SP1 running IE 5.01 w/SP1.
Any help would be greatly appreciated !

This same thing just started to suddenly happen to me for no apparent reason. It happens with the new march compatibility updates.
I have the same specs except for IE 5.5
