I have tried countless times to get my laptop tp see my PC, both have the same workgroup name, protocols and UID. The pc sees the laptop name but will not allow to browse, "Network path not found". Both have the correct NIC drivers, i cant see the laptop polling the network though, it uses a dongleless PCMCIA card 10/100 Eternet, using NTFS file system, through a 5 port 10mb hub, all cables are fine hub is fine but patients not. HELP!!!

A couple of things that come to mind to check for:

1. What OS is your PC? If it's win9x using FAT32, you can't see NTFS partitions.

2. Does your PC have a firewall program such as zonealarm? If so, you have to configure it to allow traffic out.

3. Have you tried pinging the laptop from the PC? This will test basic connectivity. If you can't ping, then there must some network issue.

Do you have file and print sharing set on both systems?

Are you using DGCP or assinging IP addresses manually?

Is the subnet mask the same on both?

Have you set any shares up on both?
