Hi Guys and Gals, Please help!
I have load win2k and every thing works fine, I have also loaded the drivers for a HP 7200e CD writer. If I start the computer with the CDRW plugged into the Paralell port I get the following msg on startup:
Stop 0x00000000A (0x00000029, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8046571B) IRQL not less or equal.
***Address 8046571B base at 80400000 DateStamp 384d9b17 ntoskrnl.exe

The computer then begins a physical dump of memory....

If I unplug the CDRW or turn the power of to it then windows boots ok.

Other things I have noticed are that the SCM PPort ATAPI adapter and SCSI / Raid host controllers have errors next to them in "Device Manager" error is Code 31. I have reloaded all drivers etc but get the same problem at startup of the CDRW is plugged in and powered up.

Thanks

Graeme

Try this the same principle applys. this came from and old post of mine. but it still works and it still deals with the same problem. First go to start settings control panel then double click system then go to the hardware tab then click device manager now double click on the icon that says computer. Now right mouse click on what the computer drop down. It should be ACPI you be right mouse clicking on. once right mouse click then hit properties. then hit the driver tab. then click update driver. then select dislplay a list of known drivers. then hit show all hardware then select standard pc. once selected. and its added it should prompt to shut down and restart let it do it. Then once your back up Each item should have a different IRQ number and you will not have a graphic card problem any more. But if you see that the graphic irq didnt change. Then keep on and do this. go back to device manager and once again double click computer icon and then right mouse click standard pc and properties. now click the IRQ STEERING tab and uncheck Use IRQ steering make sure the boxes below are also uncheck. Now shut down computer. Now open case up and and move sound card or nic card to a new slot or whatever card thats in the pci slot. maybe pci slot #2 if you cant switch it to another slot or move something out and switch it around. Ok put case back on. and restart machine. Once up go back to device manager. and click view and select resources by type and double click IRQ check to see if your video card are on different IRQ from everybody else. if they are congradulations if they aren then. Atleast most of the stuff is off the same irq now you should have less lock ups and conflicts. I do believe hopefully this will fix your problem, I tried it on 4 different machines and it works great. no problem. Please print this sheet out. So you do not have to keep refferring to it. Its not a nic problem its a IRQ problem even though it says it isnt. I have been down this route before.
