I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 1150C Printer. It worked fine before I set up a home network between 2 computers. I have cable modem, with router and switch (D-Link) to share internet connection. That works fine. Both computers have Win2k. However, the computer that is hooked up to printer (via lpt1 port) does not detect the plug and play printer. Therefore, I can't print anything to it. Even when I manually install the printer, it will not print. It just sits in the queue. I checked and double-checked settings. I don't understand why it won't even detect the printer.
Cables are snug and printer is on at time of boot up.
Thanks for help!

You probibly tried this but, BOOT into the BIOS make sure the LPT port is enabled. Check to see that it's on IRQ 7 and set for ECP+EPP...save and exit
\
When back in Windows check that the LPT port shows up in the device manager.Go to printers and delete any that you might find........select add a new printer make sure that you add the correct one and that it is a local printer.
You might want to check the printer's web sight for the current drivers....download them and install them if available!!Oh yea turn off file and printer sharing before you start all of this.
