Win2K Not Completing Boot

OS: Win2K
CPU/Ram: XP 1800 - 256mbram

Win2K it run through it's boot process, loads settings, then just sits with the windows green background. no icons, no task bar, nothing. force shut down, does the same thing. booted in safe mode, same but black screen. i can get the task manager in safe mode, but cannot end any tasks. help

Hi,
There are some things to do

a) May be Win2k doesn't boot due to
a driver incompatibility
b) May be there is something corrupted
in the registry
c) May be you have garbage:spyware, malware,
etc... some stuff and anything is freezing
your windows.

1) Try to boot with the safe mode
2) If not try to boot with the recovery
console with the cd for instance.
3) Read boot log for identifying problems.

using disable try to disable drivers
that could be trobleshooting the system

Microsof has a set of floppyes that
repair the registry... download and
do a repair.
