Win2k network drive letter limit

lets say i have a big network and i wana map multiple network drives.. i am able to map 23 network drives.. (A,C,D are taken by floppy,local,cdrom) . is ther any way that i can ma more tehn 23 network drives.. ?? and have em show up on the "my computer" like the rest of em .. ?
i tried mapping with "none" opeiton in the drive letter but it simply opens the network drive .. does not map it..
perhaps there was some way to mount a network drive like we mount local drives..

Mapping allows a network resource to "look" like a local resource for convenience. However under Windows 2000/XP you can only drives A-Z (C being the default system folder). You can connect to as many network drives as you like if you know the network path to them (and shares/permissions allow it) you just can't "map" them all for convenience. Assuming you had files on 30-40 different network drives you had to access you would have to call these by network path:
