Comment: Everytime I boot up my computer it goes to a blue screen. It keeps saying "*** STOP:0x0000005,0xF04A1A59,0x00000000,0x00000028)KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" It either suggested that one of my hard drives is low on disk space and that I should remove it from detection or remove stuff. If the hard drive is not the problem, the BIOS may need to be updated. Now before all this happened. I downloaded and installed Alcohol 120%. It required restarting to update settings before using but I didn't do the restart. I just went ahead and used it anyways. Right on the next start up this probem showed up. May that have been the problem? I'm clueless on what I should do.

Reply: (edit)Can you get into Safe mode? Have you tried Last known good configuration (also available from F8 menu)? If either of those let you in I would certainly uninstall Alcohol 120% - and if installing software says it needs a restart....! Could try booting recovery console - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;229716 - and running chkdsk /p. If still no good, could try a repair reinstall (keeps apps, data, settings - loses windows updates, so you'd need to reapply latest service pack (unless your install CD already is at SP4) and then visit windows updates to reapply patches) - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;292175&Product=win2000

Reply: (edit)I've tried safe mode and "The Last Known Configuration" method. It worked once. Than the problem started again. It must be that everytime I try to install or enable a virutal drive, the problem occurs. This time, I enabled a daemon drive. Now the "Last Known Configuration" doesn't work anymore. I don't have anything except the 4 floppy disks for booting. I did try chkdsk in the recovery console but it couldn't find autocheck.exe. Maybe I should try fixboot. Will that work? Any further information I could get this solved? Thanks.
