On the W2K machine, which connection do you have ICS enabled on? Unlike a cable modem, ADSL must have the virtual NTS adapter enabled for ICS, not the NIC connected to the ADSL modem. Questions?

Thanks w2k stud, the problem you mensioned about is a popular mistake, but my ICS setting is ok. And the clients can visit most of the sites except those listed.
The more interesting is that this do not happen in standard ppp(telephone modem) sessiones.

I am having a similar problem with adsl through a win 2000 workstation. The clients are able to access most web sites, but certain ones like www.real.com can only be accessed from the workstation connected directly to the dsl line. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

RASPPPoe from

is a very nice free pppoe dial up software. It has no defects.
nts should improve in time...

Not being able to visit some sites is typical work of PPPoE's MTU issue - it adds on to the packet information, so a lower MTU is required.

I generally change all of my servers and clients to a lower (but healthy) 1400. You can also change the MaxFrameSize in the Advanced properties of the NTS PPP3 adapter.

Be sure to mirror any MTU changes in the clients...

Both host & client are W2K. I am sharing the ADSL dial-up. Host can serf but client can't. Client time-out when ping 192.168.0.1. Client can invoke DoD on host but nothing comes back.

Any idea?
