When I boot win2k, I get an error msg: There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into \Device\Harddisk1\DR1. After I hit continue 3 times the system comes up (after the first two times, the error msg reappears. Any ideas as to what is happening and how to stop it? Thanks.

CMD.EXE is located in the c:\winnt\system32 directory on my machine. The only thing I can even guess in your case if the file is there and is not messed up is that your path statement does not point to this directory.
Just a note. My machine is running 2000 with service pack1 installed. The version of the CMD.exe file on my machine is 5.0.2195.1600\
It is a command processor file.
Good luck.
