A year or two ago I remember reading something in some online forum (don't know where exactly) that the Windows 2000 defragmenter was really buggy and caused major problems. Specifically that some people could not boot after running a defrag, and huge chunks of data were permanently deleted. Does anyone know anything about this?

Because of this I don't use the Win2k defragmenter, I use the Win98 defragmenter -- Win98 is the second OS on my computer. It has worked so far, but I'm wondering if it's safe to use it on the Win2k partition.
