hi, my USB card reader works fine. but the hitachi mini 40G harddisk (also USB) doesnt work wen plugged into win2k. OS detected there's a device plugged in, but wen it tries to install driver it says error "function driver not installed/specified" or something similiar to that.
and the USB harddisk doesnt show up in windows explorer. wen i plug in the USB harddisk i see a dialog box which says "USB/IDE..." something.. which is very fast, not bale to see the whole thing.
any idea how i troubleshoot this problem?
(the driver provided doesnt help coz dat's for win98/ME only)

Hi,
Try leaving the USB cable connected and turn the power to the USB drive off and back on.

I cannot help, I have a similar problem with a USB Hitachi 120GB HD. However, my OS is WinME, for which the drivers you mention could work. Where can I find the driver you have?
