hi y'all, got a small home network(pc and laptop)pc run win2k and my portable runs winxp. Got the problem that i can't connect(browse)to my pc2(latop-winxp).Get the error message "pc2 is not accessible, Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer" Got to mention that my pc2(laptop-winxp can browse&connect) to pc1 without problem. I also have the same workgroup name, both pc can PING each other and see each other. I want to share file and folders on pc2(laptop)...i don't have any firewall either on pc2..I use a static IP address for both of them. Could anyone help?

thanx

The user has not been granted the requested logon type suggests that you have not created a users account on the W2K PC for the XP laptop. In order to view shares on w2k you need to have an account for the user trying to access the shares. You can enabke the guest account, but it is not secure. The best bet is to create an account and set a password for the XP user that logs onto the laptop.
