Long story short..............Office XP 2002 hangs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) hangs up when accessed. I can open Word, begin typing and the program hangs. In about 2-3 minutes the screen will show the rest of my typing. When I attempt to use Format, Font, the program also hangs for about 2-3 minutes and then allows me to finish.
I have used the Detect and Repair and uninstalled and reinstalled the program.

OS is Win2K.

Please advise what other diagnostics I might use to troubleshoot this problem

Hi,

The reason why is hangs on you cause Office XP is ONLY designed for WinXP. NOT for Win2K or what so ever. So, I recommend you either remove the Office XP and put inOffice 2000 OR Remove Win2K and put WinXP. It's all UP TO YOU, BUT YEAH WIN2K DOES NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OFFICE XP. OFFICE XP and WinXP has been designed UNDER DIGITAL type not like Regular Win2K. So....... UP to you.

If you really want to know more about this, i reffer you to MS website.

GoodLuck

Thats the dumbest thing I've ever heard. (in regards to JP's Comments)

For one, office XP IS compatible with Windows 2000.

For all Office XP suites:
RAM requirements depend on the operating system used:
Windows 98, or Windows 98 Second Edition
24 MB of RAM plus an additional 8 MB of RAM for each Office program (such as Microsoft Word) running simultaneously
Windows Me, or Microsoft Windows NTŪ
32 MB of RAM plus an additional 8 MB of RAM for each Office application (such as Microsoft Word) running simultaneously
Windows 2000 Professional
64 MB of RAM plus an additional 8 MB of RAM for each Office application (such as Microsoft Word) running simultaneously
Windows XP Professional, or Windows XP Home Edition
128 MB of RAM plus an additional 8 MB of RAM for each Office application (such as Microsoft Word) running simultaneously
