Hi, I'm trying to install Win2k Pro on a relatively new mobo (2 y.o.) with a 80GB HD. Near the end of the format it says there is a problem with the HD and I should make another partition or something like that. Anybody knows what's this?? Thx for your time

"make another partition or something like that" isn't very specific. How about posting the exact message? EEOC

The error occured during the format procedure (in NTFS). As much as I recall it says format of the disk failed and suggests to use another partition. Sorry, I don't remember the exact wording. Maybe there was a problem with the HD but it's brand new. I'll check it up with the manufacturer's utility. I posted because someone told me that Win2k cannot see such a big disk but I see that is not the case. Thanks anyway

What service pack is integrated into your Win2000 CD? What interface is the drive? IDE or SATA?
