At random times during the day, the printers status on our server will suddenly go to offline. Although the printer itself displays that it is ready. After a reboot of the server, the printer shows as online again and resumes its jobs. This problem started recently after the installation of Norton Personal Firewall on the server.

Well you could try disabling the firewall to see if that makes a difference????

As you said this happened after you installed it so may be it is the cause?
