I want to upgrade my system from Win98 to Win 2000 Pro. My system is configured well on the network and is working proprly, I have configured the client to the net work with the help of Microsoft Small Business Srver. When i tried to install the net work connectivity with the help of a disk created by the microsoft small business server it prompted that this not for Win 2000 Pro. and you need to configure the system manually.
Now my question is if i upgrade my win 98 to win 2000 pro. Will it take all the net work setting and work properly.

If you enter the information manually, everything should work fine. Just make sure you check with your Network Administrator first.
Also, you want to make sure your Win98 machine will run 2000 efficiently.

Ram, if all you want to do is upgrade and keep the existing network settings, just pop in the win2k cd and select upgrade (not clean install). Make sure you have a computer acct on the domain first. If your installation files reside on the SBS, run winnt32.exe from the i386 that resides on the server from your pc.
