Hi there,
I've just installed a clean copy of Win2000 version 5.00.2195 on my machine, after running it quite successfully before.
Now I'm getting strange problems whenever I restart the machine.
1) The display goes back to the default 640x480 (from 1024x768), and
2) My printer disappears, the new hardware found dialog box pops up, and I have to reinstall it!
Anybody know how I can fix this? Will the SP help?
Thanks!

Not knowing your system configuration [which in the future, please include], I would suspect that you first confirm you have the latest Win2K compatible driver[s] for your video display adapter and printer.
Also, if you are using a AMD CPU, you will need to get the patch from their site.
And installing SP1 may also help to eliminate any other compatibility problems.
Again, without knowing your system components, this is a 'guess'.

Sounds like it is simply 'unloading' your video card drivers. Get a fresh 'batch' at either your vendor or the video card manufacturer.
This often happens with the Matrox video driver. When you install the drivers then 'simply switch' to another video card driver or video card, the matrox executables are still starting up and linking to the incorrect drivers. If thats the case, uninstall them using Add/Remove in the control panel then reinstall the appropriate drivers. DiskMan
