I've got Win2000 Professional and was wondering if it can do the following:
1) Act as a server for other systems running Win98 using NetBEUI and/ot TCP/IP (for ICS)
2) Connect to Win98 using straight forward peer-peer via NetBEUI
3) Be installed on seperate systems as a client ie. it can function as either a client or a server in a network

Do I need to get a copy of Server and Client?

Thanks very much for any help!! ;)

You can use w2k professional for all of your needs. Create a workgroup and all the computers will be able to talk to each other. Be sure to use either 10.0.0.0 or 192.168.0.0 address scheme for the PCs. These IP address are reserved for private LANs. You will need a hub to connect all the PCs, or if you only have two, you can make or buy, a cross-over network cable. To do internet sharing, I would recommend getting a cable/dsl (if that is your connection type) instead of using windows ICS. They are easy to set up and relatively cheap (150 US dollars).
