Hi people,
I was setting up a home network with my housemate, i have xp, he win2000. We set up my computer to be the host and he was going to connect to mine for shared files and internet etc. Unfortunately, his computer after it restarted went to a network login screen and although we set no password it isn't letting him connect. So the problem being, he cannot use his computer. My computer is not firewalled and although there are no passwords set, it doesn't seem to recognize his computer so it appears to be stuck. ANy suggestions would really be appreciated, Thanks
David

Both computers MUST have identical user ID's and passwords and be memebers of the same workgroup.
Basics: Go to Start\Control Panel\Network\LAN Properties. Both computers must have TCP\IP, Client for M$ Networks and File and Print Sharing for M$ Networks installed. If not install them from "Add\Remove Programs.
Go into Start\Control Panel\System. Make sure both computers are on the same network, "MSHOME" is the default. If not, make them so.
Put IDENTICAL User ID's and passwords on BOTH computers.
