Win2000 install hangs on my PC

I have a PIII (667MHz) system that uses an Intel D815EEA2 Motherboard and I can't seem to get Win2000 Pro to install on it. This is whether I try to do an upgrade or fresh install. The install basically hangs at some point. Sometimes it gets further than others, but never really past the point where it's finished copying all the necessary files. I've tried everything, including removing all the extra components (NIC, 2nd CDROM, 2nd HD) and disabling the integrated sound card. I've tried a different HD, in case it was related to the UDMA stuff as well as a different video card. Basically, I've switched out every component at some point (except the MB). This is a legit Win2000 Pro copy, so no bootleg issues. Has anyone seen this with this motherboard or any others for that matter?

Make sure you have the latest Bios for it. http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d815eea2/index.htm

Yeah, I updated the bios at some point when I was trying to get the upgrade to work, but no dice. I e-mailed a couple people that had the same problem and they got back to me. The solution? Install XP instead. I'm going to give it a couple more go's, though...

OK this depends on your mobo's BIOS, get there and look for an option that labeled either Load Factory Defaults or Load Safe Settings, this should solve it. If this is the problem when you're done installing windows you can change it again to suit your needs
