Service Pack II is due out in a month, and will rectify this shut down issue you have. Its becoming a known issue

I have the same problem. If your computer shuts down immediately under win98 and not in win2000, you should hold down the power button for a few seconds when the message appears:Īt's safe to turn of your computer.
