I need some help!! I work for a school and are having problems with a laptop. The laptop is running W2k, and is setup for auto login. The account it auto logs in as is a "user" account. It will load to the desktop and then gives the following message then it freezes.
"You don't have sufficient security privledges to install devices on this computer. Contact your site administrator, or logout and login as administrator."
I can't login in as the admin to check things out since the computer freezes everytime after autologin. Obviously software was loaded, then this problem started to happen. It does this in safe mode as well. Does anyone know if I can stop the automatic login while it's booting or do it through a prompt? I just need to get logged in as the administrator, please help!!

Very simple: You just have to change the Admin password! But to do this, you must do a little hacker trick, but don't panic!! It's quite simple if you're not a complete newbie to computers!!!!
First of all you must get a floppy-disc image

Thisone should do the job.
Then get rawrite from the web to install it on your floppy-disk, or do this with "dd" in Linux if you own that. From there on run the floppy disk and follow all the steps, you should always select the default prompts.
This utility is quite unique and strongly beloved in hacker communities because it enables you to change ALL Win2k and WinXP passwords.
Ok, now you change your password (of the user which is automatically logged in) and what happens? Windows will tell you, you could not be authentificated!!
Ha, this is your point! Now enter Administrator or whatever your Admin-Login is named, if you don't have an Admin-Login you can select Administrator with the Hacker-Tool.
From there on it should be no problem for you.
Hope this will help you,

Try this one (much simpler:-)
- restart the computer.
- after start windows, hold under the shift key. The logon window will come out. Autologon is disabled at this time temporarily.
- then log in as admin and finish hardware configuration.
- when you log off, the autologon will be enabled again.
If you want to disable the autologon for good, let me know (you need to modify registry).
