OS: windows 2000 pro.
CPU/Ram: ?????
Comment:

I am unable to open and use a DOS based program that I was able to access yesterday.

Mitchell program is on a Compaq proliant server.

Here is the error code language that pops up when I try to open the Mitchell program.

C:\WINNT\system 32 \auto exec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS>DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose “close “ to terminate the application

This window pops up 4 times.

This error started appearing after I downloaded a few kimodo dragon pictures from several zoo sites. I updated Norton internet security and scanned. also ran Adware and srysweeper. It did find malware and I deleted.

I do not know if problem is related but the Mitchell program is used on a daily basis with no trouble until now.

I had the Exact Same Problem, I accedently dowloaded and installed some wicked SPywhere Program from Kazaa, I did a check with adaware and Spybot, deltete the crap they suggested I delete, then I typed, cmd in the "run" Dialouge box. I got the error that cmd couldnt run under 16 bit, I checked my C:\Windows folder and noticed my System 32 Folder was GONE!

It Looks Like FDISK time, I am going to try installing a coopy of system 32 from my other computer first, I'll proballly fdisk anyway...but I'll let you know how the replacment of the system 32 goes first.

I reinstalled the System 32 but things were beyond my level of experience.

Restoring System 32 to the Windows directory did Squat.

Command.com and 32 bit apps were not doing so good.

I just backed up what I could, Fdisked my computer
