Hi,

I'm having a strange problem with win 2000.
Where i work we have a network of 25 Win 98 computers (one of them was mine). I say was
because i installed two days ago Win 2000 pro
on my pc (clean install) and since then i can see everyone else in the network and enter any shared folder, drive but is not happening the same with all the other users. They can see me in the network, but when they try to access my shared folder, printer
they receive a message stating tt access is denied. I have installed TCP/IP with the settings i had before, same workgroup for all but still nothing. Can someone help?

You have to set up accounts for them on your PC.The security in W2K is a lot better than W98.

If you don't care much about security you could activate Win2k's Guest account, so anyone in LAN can access your PC.
I don't know the correct expressions, because I use German Win2k. Try sth. like Computer-Management --> Local Users and Groups --> Users --> click on Guest --> deactivate "Deactivate Account"
Hope I could help you
