HELP!
It seems as if event viewer has gone rogue! It has continously logged errors at an unusually high rate to the point it is full and I can not access it.
My HD has gone from about 9 GB to its peak of 17.
How can I delete this junk or access Event Viewer, since it gives me an error telling m its full when I try.

Look in the following folder, \winnt\system32\config\ for all files with extension *.evt (appevent.evt, sysevent.evt & secevent.evt) and delete them and reboot.

It will not let me delete these files as they are "in use."
Thanks

Disable & stop "Event Log" service and try again - reboot if necessary.
