Hi Again
I have installed RealOne Real Player, and this computer has issues. The player does not read, play from, burn to either of the two CDROM drives (both 48x24x48x CD-RW's).
It knows they are there in tools/preferences, and it can detect a CD inserted in the drive with the message about the CD contents are not yet i the playlist. When instructed to play, copy to playlist or burn, it just ignores the command, no error message or other indication of trouble.
CD burning works just fine with OAK Copy CD. All other CD activity is OK, including installs from either CD drive.
Hardware includes Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum, ATA133 dual port interface card by Silicon Image, USB 2.0 4 port card, AGP AIT 7500, EPOX MB 8RDA+
Now, as this is my wifes machine, she has installed or downloaded other CD I/O software including MS Media Player, Nero, Oak of course, and who knows what else.
I knew that would make you smile...
I have uninstalled and restalled OAK and RealOne Player. Oak keep working fine, but RealOne just ignores the CDROMS. IT will play from her playlists just fine.
Might there be any value in....
Rotating the PCI cards in thier slots for IRQ sensitivity?
Uninstalling a bunch of CDrom player related software that may have driver conflicts with RealOne?
Tossing in a hand grenade and just using whats left? :-)thanks.
