I have been unable to log off or shut down one of my win2k pro machines. Everytime I select either log off or shutdown from the menu I just get taken right back to my desktop. I have the latest virus updates and a full scan has revealed no virus's present. I can lock my station but cant log off or shutdown. The only thing removed from the pc recently was a HP scanner, and I am not sure how they removed it and the software. Anyone come across this before ?

Appreciate the quick response, I checked the settings mentioned in the article, unfortunately this didnt solve the problem. It did allow me to log out ONCE, but after that I was back to the same problem. Am at a loss as to why this is happening.

You could do a repair of w2k. when entering the installation routine you are given that option.
