Actually, I have two small problems.

The first is when Win2K opens, every time it opens the System32 folder as well. It started doing this after I installed an update to the HP ScanJet driver. Anyhow, I can't seem to find where the comand to open the folder is coming from.

The second one, I am only using Windows 2000 on this machine, but the Windows director is still in place. So when I boot, I am getting the OS Selection promt. Is there a way to get rid of that, is it as simple as killing the windows directory?

Thanks

-Scott

refering to your second question: I cant improve it on my machine, because i have only one OS installed, but this should work.
Select from the control panel the system properties. There you will find under 'Advanced' the button 'Startup and recovery'. Click it and set your default OS as 'Windows 2000 ......'. Disable the checkbox 'Display list of OS...'. Thats how it must work.

Don,

Thanks for the help, seems like that should do it.

Now if anyone has a hint on where that code opening the System32 folder might be hiding I am all set.

Thanks again

Had the same problem with an HP scanner. Try uninstalling all of the scanner software and drivers. Check the HP site for updates. I believe there was a fix posted. Follow all of HP's steps to re-install. Definately a problem with the HP scanner
