Recently, windows media player seven and the counterstrike mod for half-life have been crashing my computer. 10 or so minutes into a game or a movie, my mouse freezes and whatever sound that was playing keeps playing over and over. CTRL+ALT+DEL wont bring up options and i have to hit the reset button on my tower. Im running Win 2K with an AMD TBird 800 on an Asus K7M Board, an Asus GeForce 256, 256 MB of RAM. Before the crashing started, i installed Nvidia's Detonator3 drivers for my card. It actually fixed the jumpyness of my gameplay, but now it crashes along with media player. What can i do? Should i flash my bios (Mboard and Video)? If so, is there a risk in doing so?

I had the same problem...
U can pretty much resolve it by switching the expansion slots on your motherboard.. I mean.. Take out the Sound card from the factory installed expansion slot and insert it in the empty expansion slot(away from the Modem and cable modem/Network interface Card, Graphics card.. etc.)
I tried every possible method but nothing worked.. I then switched my expnsion slots as I explained above.. I am back in business now..
