When I boot up my windows 2000 computer and log into our network domain, the password is verified but the I do not receive an IP Address. If I go into the event log i recieve an error that says that DHCP Client is shutting down becuase a system call that should never fail has failed. I have tried installing a different NIC card, reinstalling the drivers for the current one and checked all the networking cabling. I am trying to avoid reinstalling the OS, so if you know how to fix the problem, please let me know.
