Comment: Hi I have a Domain controller with win 2K server with around 50 client logging into it. Out of this around 7 to 8 desktops are continously accessing the server and vice versa and they exchange certain amount of data between them. When i looked at the netstat (both in client and server) there are some connections being establised continously and it goes and on and on.. whats been happening here and how to stop this.. regards Suriya

Reply: (edit)Its not denying the clients to access the dc. But at the same time, there is no need of sending and receiving data packets between the dc and the client when the client is not at all using his desktop and no sessions has been running in the client. A network session should occur only when there is a active work is being done like web browsing or accessing a share etc., but there is no need for continous data send and receive when the system is totally idle. regards Suriya

Reply: (edit)Long shot but you could try disjoining those machines from the domain, deleting the Computer accounts and then rejoin the machines. Matt Lascola Domain Administrator
