I started installing AD and it has been running for over a day installing it. No other programs are running, nothing is "Not Responding". I am not a genius by any means but I don't think it should take that long. I am running an AMD 1.4 with 256 ram. Any ideas on why it is not proceding with the installation?

Where is your DNS installed? AD will look for a DNS server, so perhaps your machine is trying to locate it. Usually, windows will prompt you if it can not find a DNS server, and you will give you the option of installing it.
