hi,
1. i was trying to change the boot sequence in BIOS by activating CD Rom boot. however, when i activate it, an exclamation mark (!) appears next to the option. may i know how to solve this? i am using an ibm x20, and the CD Drive does not come with the laptop itself - it comes with the dock that is always attached to the laptop. and yes, the green light on the dock indicates that it is properly attached and working fine.
2. is there a way to check the laptop's hardware in BIOS? i can only see the processor type/speed and memory. can i also check the hard drive, and other hardwares?
thank you.

1) I'm not familiar with that model and it's docking station but I'd wager since the CD is part of the docking station and not the laptop, that's the actual issue. Prior to booting and loading drivers for that unit, it's probably not even seen by the BIOS and can't be booted to.
2) Look for the IDE stuff in the BIOS. This will show all attached IDE devices. In the case of a PC or laptop with an internal IDE CD-ROM drive, you will see that drive in there. If you don't see your CD-ROM then it's like I said in 1, the BIOS isn't seeing that CD-ROM device.
